Why we organise by problem rather than by floor type

Most flooring companies list their services by material: hardwood, laminate, tile, carpet. That works when the job is installation, because material is what you are buying. It works badly for repair, because a squeak is not a property of the material. It is a property of the connection underneath it, and the same hardwood floor can be silent in one room and noisy in the next depending on what the subfloor is doing there. So we split the work the way the problems actually split: by where the movement is and what kind of assembly is moving. Stairs are their own category because a staircase is a jointed assembly rather than a fastened plane. Upstairs floors are their own category because access from below is usually blocked. New builds are their own category because the answer may be a warranty claim rather than a repair at all.

Questions about our services

Do you install new flooring as well as repair it?

No, and that is deliberate. We repair the floor you already have. It means we have no commercial reason to tell you a floor needs replacing when it needs a fastener, which is the single most common complaint people have about getting flooring quotes. If your floor genuinely is past repair we will say so, and you can take that to an installer.

What if I pick the wrong service page?

It does not matter. The free diagnostic visit exists precisely because self-diagnosis is hard, and the pages are there to help you understand the problem rather than to make you commit to a category. Describe what you are hearing and where, and we will work out which it is.

Can one visit cover more than one problem?

Usually yes, and it is generally cheaper that way, because a good portion of the cost of any visit is getting to you and setting up. If you have a squeaky staircase and a noisy upstairs hallway, we would normally quote both in one visit rather than asking you to book twice.

Do you do emergency or same-day work?

A squeak is almost never an emergency, so we do not run an emergency service for it and we would rather not charge you emergency rates for something that has been going on for two years. Where a floor is soft, moving or water-affected that is a different matter and worth telling us about when you call.
