Why we organise by problem rather than by floor type

We organise by problem because a squeak belongs to the connection under the floor, not to the flooring material on top. Flooring services are usually listed by material: hardwood, laminate, tile, carpet. That works when the job is installation, because material is what you are buying. It works badly for repair, because the same hardwood floor can be silent in one room and noisy in the next depending on what the subfloor is doing there. So we split the work the way the problems split: by where the movement is and what kind of assembly is moving. Stairs are their own category because a staircase is a jointed assembly rather than a fastened plane. Upstairs floors are their own category because access from below is usually blocked. New builds are their own category because the answer may be a warranty claim rather than a repair at all.

Questions about our services

Do you install new flooring as well as repair it?

No, and that is deliberate. We repair the floor you already have. It means we have no commercial reason to tell you a floor needs replacing when it needs a fastener. If your floor is past repair we will say so, and you can take that to an installer.

What if I pick the wrong service page?

It does not matter. The free diagnostic visit exists because self-diagnosis is hard, and the pages are there to help you understand the problem rather than to make you commit to a category. Describe what you are hearing and where, and we will work out which it is.

Can a squeaky staircase and a noisy upstairs hallway go on one quote?

Yes. One diagnostic visit can look at both, and one written quote can cover both, with each repair priced the way its page describes: stairs by the tread, floors by the size of the area and the access below it. Combining them in one visit is usually better value than booking twice.

Is a squeak worth an emergency or same-day call-out?

Almost never. A squeak on its own is not a safety issue, and it is easier to find at a booked visit when the noise can be reproduced, ideally in the heating season. A floor that is soft, moving underfoot or water-affected is different: say so when you call, so the visit can be arranged with that in mind.
