This policy explains what information Squeaky Floor collects through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Squeaky Floor repairs squeaky floors, stairs and subfloors, with offices at 1827 Woodward Drive, Ottawa and 4544 Sheppard Avenue E, Toronto. The policy applies to squeakyfloor.ca and to enquiries sent to us through it, by phone, by text or by email.
What we collect
When you submit a quote request or contact form, or call, text or email us, we collect the information you choose to give us: typically your name, your phone number and email address, the address of the property, a description of the problem, and any photos you send. We collect this because we cannot respond to an enquiry or quote a repair without it. We do not ask for, and do not want, payment card or banking details through this site.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry by phone, text or email, and to arrange a diagnostic visit.
- To prepare and send you a written quote.
- To carry out and follow up on work you have booked with us.
- To keep records of work performed, as any contractor would.
Who we share it with
We share your enquiry with our operating company, which carries out the on-site work, so that it can contact you, quote the repair and complete it. Our Terms of Service describe that arrangement. We may also share information with service providers that run parts of this website for us, such as hosting and form handling, and only to the extent needed to run it. We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become jobs are kept only as long as they are useful for following up. Records relating to work we have carried out are kept longer, because a homeowner may reasonably come back to us about a past repair.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@squeakyfloor.ca and we will deal with it. If you ask us to stop contacting you, or to stop using a particular method such as text messages, we will.
Canada's federal private-sector privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applies to how a business in Ontario handles this kind of information. If you are not satisfied with how we respond to a privacy request, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
